The most important properties of the electrical steels used for this application are the loss and the permeability.
Non-oriented fully processed electrical steels(as M230-35/50A) have guaranteed magnetic properties, in accordance with (or exceeding the levels required by) EN 10106. As well as the maximum loss and minimum polarisation levels cited, full magnetic characterisation curves regarding losses, polarisation, permeability and apparent power at different frequencies are available on request.
Pole sheet grades (as the colled rolled 450-100-TF 180 AM FCE and the hot rolled 700-300-TG 178) are designed for large high-speed machines because of their excellent combination of mechanical strength and magnetic performance, which makes them ideal for industrial applications.
Grain-oriented electrical steels are supplied in the fully processed state and have guaranteed magnetic properties, in accordance with EN 10107. Conventional grain-oriented (as M120-30S), or even improved conventional grades (as M117-30S AM FCE) can be used.
